General Information

Average number of modified growing degree days (MGDD) for the Midwest region, determined from a base of 50F to a ceiling of 86F for the period of April-October 1981-2010. There is north to south increase, ranging from less than 2000 near Lake Superior to more than 4000 in far southern sections. Data from the Midwestern Regional Climate Center, Illinois State Water Survey, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
